Little League Foundation & Little League Alumni
The Little League Foundation of Canada was established March 7, 1978, dedicated to the financial support of Little League in Canada and also mirrors the intention of International offices in Williamsport, Pa. The initial startup of the Foundation was started by a donation of $50,000 by Petro Canada.
While the foundation was set up as a tax-exempt organization to receive funds for the purpose of making contributions and voluntarily assist Little League Canada. After a period of inactivity, the foundation was reactivated in 1996 with the sole purpose of creating an endowment fund for Little League Canada and to provide a vehicle to develop and manage fund raising and marketing initiatives.
Part of the Little League Canada Foundation is the Alumni program which is currently being revamped and shall be on line later this year.
The Little League Alumni was developed as the principal vehicle used to establish the endowment fund. The initial imitative met with limited success, and it wasn’t until Little League Canada joined several other Canadian amateur athletic organizations in participation in the Charitable Donation Program in 2003 that funds were accrued by the Foundation.
The members of Board of the Foundation is currently made up of Directors of Little League Canada, President of Little League Canada, and nine volunteers all either past DA’s or long time Little League personnel.
